Serious choices
For many of the ADT workers who are Christians, their conversion to Christianity has meant really hard personal choices. We met people whose families had disowned them and for whom many job opportunities were closed. Buddhism accounts for 69% of the population compared to evangelical Christians who make up 0.5%. However they are perceived as a threat and there have been many recent attacks on church leaders and buildings. 140 were officially recorded in 2005.
Now and always
We hope that this will be an on-going partnership with NCEASL and ADT. We have committed to supporting their work in the longer term. We want to send mission teams and working parties out to Trincomalee in the future to help with projects and training.
Please contact us if you would like to talk to us or use our contacts to support the work of ADT. Our own financial support will go directly to the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka for the work of the ADT. In this way all of our support will go to helping those who need it most.
